Cheddar Tiguidou! is a firm, rindless cheese made with pasteurized milk. It has a cream colour, a buttery aroma and a hazelnut flavour that becomes stronger with age.

It is available in four varieties:

  • Mild (aged 60 days to 4 months)
  • Medium (aged 6 to 8 months)
  • Old (aged 12 to 15 months)
  • Extra-old (aged 18 months or more)


These varieties are available in different size blocks and the mild cheddar is also available in slices.

Why Tiguidou!? The cheese maker gives the cheeses humorous names with local flair. The Quebec expression “c’est tiguidou!” means “OK” or “it’s all good”. Because this cheddar is available in a variety of versions, everyone is sure to find a favourite. The packaging reads “Tiguidou! une affaire de goût”, because it’s all about the taste. The Choquette family has been making a whole series of cheeses since 1976, proudly displaying the identity and accents from here. The Lac-Mégantic cheese maker is the fourth generation to continue the tradition of making cheeses from here, following in the footsteps of founder Vianney Choquette.

Cheddar Tiguidou! is available from the cheese maker and at a variety of grocery stores in the Cantons-de-l’Est, Chaudière-Appalaches, Montérégie and Centre-du-Québec regions.
