This firm, reduced-fat cheese is made from pasteurized partly skimmed milk using artisanal methods. It is ripened under red wax for at least 365 days, giving the interior a yellow butter colour and a smooth, creamy texture. The cheese has a milky aroma and a pronounced Cheddar taste.
The word amoroso means “in love” in Spanish and “affectionate” in Italian. Manufactured since 2011 by the Fromagerie La Vache à Maillotte and formerly known as the Jocoeur Vieilli, Amoroso is a light cheese that’s so delicious, you can’t help but fall in love with it!
Amoroso is available from the cheese maker, in specialty cheese shops and in some supermarkets.
