Fromagerie La Vache à Maillotte

Abitibi-Témiscamingue

Firm

M.F. : 31% Moisture : 40%

This firm, rindless, unripened cheese is made from pasteurized milk. The yellow straw-coloured interior has a buttery aroma and taste with slightly tangy hints of hazelnut. Its texture is soft and slightly elastic. The cheese is available in white, yellow and marbled and in several formats, such as rounds, blocks, individual servings and even grated!

Cheese curds
M.F.: 30%, Moisture: 42%
The cheese maker also makes twists, Cheddar curds as well as curds just for poutine. Poutine curds are rounder and smaller than traditional curds, and they melt slowly when in contact with heat. Tasty, smooth and always fresh, you’ll go wild about its texture and mild taste. Cheddar curds are available in plain, BBQ, garlic and dill flavours.

Founded in 1996, the Fromagerie La Vache à Maillotte, located in La Sarre, has a hundred retail locations in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. Since its inception, the cheese maker has created numerous products and now proudly offers a specialty cheese line that is constantly expanding.

Cheddar La Vache à Maillotte is available from the cheese maker, in specialty cheese shops and in several grocery stores in the region.
