The taste of this semi-soft, rindless, unripened cheese made from pasteurized milk is subtly enhanced by oriental spices and exotic flavourings. This Haloumi’s interior is moist, homogenous and slightly rubbery. The Doré-Mi is now available in two formats, 235 g and 160 g, and in several different varieties, including regular, with Mediterranean spices, with Indian spices and jalapeño.
The Doré-Mi is a cheese that likes being cooked (getting “doré”, or golden). It is excellent for grilling, as it does not melt when heated. A versatile cheese, whether pan-seared or grilled on a barbecue, it is excellent hot or cold, on skewers, in a salad, as an appetizer and even au gratin!
The Doré-Mi is available from the cheese maker, in specialty grocery stores and cheese shops, as well as in most supermarkets.
