This firm lactose-free cheese made from pasteurized milk is created following an original Dutch recipe. Rindless, it is wrapped in a red wax that promotes quality interior-ripening during the three-month process. Its interior is of a pale butter colour, homogenous, smooth, slightly elastic, and sometimes dotted with small holes (eyes). It has a slightly roasted aroma of milk, butter and nut. Its taste is slightly tangy, creamy and buttery with touches of hazelnut.
Bergeron Classique Light
M.F.: 14% Moisture: 47%
It is aged for 8 to 12 weeks. It contains 56% less fat, but offers the same pleasure as the regular version. In a blind taste test with 677 participants, 42% said they preferred the Light. This cheese proves it’s possible to choose a light cheese for its taste and not just for its fat content. Try it for yourself. You’ll see, you have to taste it to believe it!
This cheese works great as a first tasting service and is perfect for beginning a meal and making sauces, fondue and gratins. It’s always a first choice for snacks.
