This firm and washed rind farm cheese is made from raw milk and aged 9, 16 or 24 months. The beautiful 40-kg rounds are imposing in both size and flavour. Inspired by Jurassien techniques, the Fromagerie du Presbytère has created a magnificent cheese, full of complex and delicate aromas after 9 months of ripening.
The Louis d'Or takes its name from the Ferme Louis d'Or, the farm where is produced the full-flavoured organic milk used in this cheese. Louis was the second in the Morin family to run the farm, adding “d'or” to its name in a nod to the French currency introduced in 1640 during the reign of Louis XIII.
Louis d'Or is available at the cheese maker and in certain specialty cheese shops.
