Bleu d'Élizabeth's Seventh Heaven

  • 115 g (1/4 lb) ground beef
  • 1 shallot, chopped
  • 2 basil leaves, finely chopped
  • 5 ml (1 tsp.) capers, chopped
  • 1 egg yolk, beaten
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) Le Bleu d’Élizabeth cheese, crumbled
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) butter
  • 45 ml (3 tbsp.) home-made tomato and avocado salsa
  • 2 leaves of leaf lettuce
  • Bread chosen: Mini rustic bread

Home-made Tomato and Avocado Salsa

  • 1/2 of an avocado, diced
  • 1 tomato, seeded and diced
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper

  • In a bowl, mix the ground beef, shallot, basil, capers, egg yolk and half of the cheese together. Add salt and pepper.
  • Shape into patties and grill on both sides in a frying pan or on the BBQ.
  • Slice the bread in half and spread each half with butter.
  • Toast the bread.
  • Fill with the meat, rest of the cheese, salsa and lettuce.
  • Close the sandwich.

Home-made Tomato and Avocado Salsa

  • In a bowl, mix all ingredients together. Set aside.
